In addition to writing, Teppo works as a Producer at Yle Drama. Over the past five years, he has co-produced several of Yle’s acclaimed and award-winning original comedy series in collaboration with independent production companies — including Modern Men, DIY Detectives, Dear Children, and Sweethearts.
Teppo’s approach to storytelling is character- and concept-driven. He is interested in journalism and the exploration of social phenomena, a curiosity that strongly influences the themes and realism of his writing. When developing the Kasper Wik series, he was inspired by the story’s tension and by the hidden motives simmering beneath the surface of its characters — the forces that drive their actions. Teppo is drawn to strong, enduring characters that transcend generations, such as Ian Fleming’s James Bond — a figure who can be reimagined and placed at the center of new, exciting stories time and again. His hope as an author is that Kasper Wik will find his readers and continue to live on in many future adventures.
Teppo has previously worked as Head of Development at FremantleMedia and as a Producer at Sanoma. He lives in Helsinki, Finland.
